What the Water Left Behind

Reading flood lines, rounded granite, and the patient record of Fourmile Creek.

All stories

The creek does not simply pass through the canyon. It edits it. Spring runoff shifts stones, exposes roots, and leaves a precise dark line on timber.

We collect only material already displaced from its original setting. The point is not to strip the landscape, but to notice what change has made available—and to record that change honestly.

A water-worn piece of granite may become a foot, a counterweight, or remain on the shelf for years. Waiting is part of the work.
